Euphoria in the Fall: "Törggele"

When the first wine was tasted while standing next to the so-called "Torggel" (wine press) in the wine cellar, the farmers of the Eisack Valley / Val d'Isarco had good reason to be thankful for a good harvest.

"Törggele" has remained a time-honored tradition in this region. People hike through the gently rolling countryside until they come to an authentic "Törggele" farmstead. They stop there for a hearty refreshment – including bacon, wine, smoked meats, sauerkraut, sweet pastries, and roasted chestnuts.

But don't forget the most-important thing about "Törggele" – don't try to enjoy it in a hurry!
